On October 11, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, expressed his thoughts on Uniswap in a social media post in 2022. He stated that the main value of Uniswap is its ability to allow users to complete transactions quickly and easily without much thought. In this case, Buterin believes that a Uniswap chain or Rollup does not make sense. Instead, he suggests having a Uniswap fork protocol on each Rollup.
Previously, on October 10, Uniswap Labs announced the launch of Unichain, a fast, decentralized Optimism super chain L2. The Unichain testnet went live on October 11, with the mainnet set to launch later this year. Uniswap Labs aims to improve DeFi and continue advancing the Ethereum expansion roadmap with Unichain.
