According to a report from BlockBeats news, the U.S. government has taken action to seize more than $2.67 million in digital assets stolen by the North Korean hacker group, Lazarus Group. These criminals have caused significant damage, with losses from cryptocurrency hacks and vulnerabilities surpassing $120 million in September 2024.

In one case, the U.S. government is trying to recover around $1.7 million in USDT from a group responsible for stealing $28 million from an options exchange in the 2022 Deribit hack. Hackers were able to access the Deribit hot wallet and then launder the funds through various means.

Additionally, law enforcement officials are working to recover about $970,000 in Avalanche-bridged-Bitcoin that was stolen during an attack on the Stake.com gambling platform in 2023. This illegal activity led to over $41 million in losses for Stake.
