Sei Labs and the Sei Foundation have launched the Sei Research Initiative to improve the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and enhance scalability and decentralization. The initiative aims to work with third-party researchers, thought leaders, and external contributors to explore and expand the EVM’s capabilities.
It seeks to tackle the current limitations of the EVM, such as single-threaded nature, transaction bottlenecks, high gas fees, and slow finality times, by working on innovative approaches like horizontal scaling. The Sei Research Initiative is guided by core principles like relentless innovation, community-first open-source collaboration, and decentralization.
The team invites developers, researchers, and community members to participate in this open-source collaboration and explore opportunities like Sei Protocol’s documentation, grant initiatives, and funds.
