Ripple Labs has decided to appeal the ongoing case with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC filed a notice of appeal in its long-standing legal action against Ripple, which was initially pursued in December 2020. The appeal is aimed at ensuring Ripple preserves its views and arguments, even though the company’s Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty did not divulge what these would involve. Ripple’s priority is to leave no room for dispute regarding the investment contract’s lack of fundamental rights and obligations, emphasizing that it isn’t possible to establish such a contract without these rights and duties.
