Nigeria To Propose Cryptocurrency Tax Legislation

According to PANews, Nigeria’s Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) plans to submit a bill to parliament by September to impose taxes on the cryptocurrency industry. FIRS Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji disclosed this plan during a meeting with the Senate and House of Representatives Finance Committees of the National Assembly. Adedeji stated, ‘Our plan is first to create laws to regulate this activity, which is why we are here with the legislative body. The legislative body will serve as the basis for the charges.’
