A man named Mike “Crazy” Hughes wanted to prove that the Earth is flat and shaped like a frisbee. He believed the flat Earth theory and decided to launch himself 570 meters high in a homemade rocket to take photos from space to prove his point. After building the rocket in his garage and receiving permission to launch, Hughes took off from Earth in 2018 and reached an altitude of 571 meters.
Despite facing some difficulties during the landing, Hughes claimed he was aware of the risks and doesn’t regret his actions. Unfortunately, Hughes died in 2020 during the launch of another homemade rocket.
