NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and SoftBank Chairman Masayoshi Son have discussed Japan’s role in AI technology during the AI Summit in Tokyo. They emphasized the need for a new industrial revolution powered by AI and highlighted Japan’s unique position to lead this transformation. NVIDIA and SoftBank are collaborating to build Japan’s most powerful AI supercomputer, which will provide extensive computing capabilities for AI initiatives.
Additionally, SoftBank has successfully piloted the world’s first combined AI and 5G network, AI-RAN, which will allow AI and 5G workloads to run concurrently. NVIDIA is also partnering with Japanese cloud leaders to develop a national AI infrastructure, supported by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.
