Digital renminbi is becoming more popular in China as promotion efforts have accelerated this year. The number of cities, application scenarios, and wallet openings has increased significantly, bringing it closer to widespread use. The “White Paper on China’s Digital RMB Research and Development Progress” shows that there were over 20.87 million personal wallets opened as of June 30, and the number has now reached 140 million as of October 22.
This indicates that digital renminbi is gaining traction and may soon become a widely accepted form of currency in the country.
