The 2024 US presidential election saw the re-election of former President Donald Trump, who is known for his support of Bitcoin and blockchain innovation. The crypto community backed Trump during his campaign as he promised to establish a national Bitcoin reserve and end the “war on crypto.” Pro-crypto politicians also made progress in the US elections.
Some industry leaders believe Bitcoin has emerged as a key winner from the election. Coinbase co-founder Brian Armstrong called the election a pivotal moment for bipartisan crypto support and urged the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to collaborate with the industry and create clear regulatory guidelines for digital assets.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse agreed, stating that the voice of crypto supporters is now impossible to ignore.
