Worldcoin Rebrands, Token Drops: New World ID 3.0 Unveiled

World is also introducing a new Super App that will integrate with users’ digital wallets, along with announcing that their blockchain, World Chain, has launched on mainnet.

While World’s vision of expanding the reach of the World ID system and featuring the deployment of orbs worldwide is promising, the recent token drop signals a more cautious response from the market.

The company aims to place orbs in everyday locations such as kiosks, coffee shops, and even offer home delivery for iris scans.

With the launch of World ID 3.0, the company introduced new privacy features, including tools like Deep Faces to combat online fraud and deepfakes. The company made the announcement during a major event held in San Francisco, where they detailed their future vision along with technological updates and plans to expand their iris-scanning orbs.

However, the company’s token saw a 10% drop following the event. World announced plans to deploy more orbs globally, which are now powered by improved NVIDIA Jetson chips, making them faster and more efficient.

Worldcoin, a blockchain company co-founded by Sam Altman, has undergone an ambitious rebranding, changing its name to World.
