Worldcoin is testing facial recognition for its World App

According to BlockBeats, on September 19, according to the official blog of Worldcoin, Worldcoin is testing facial recognition for its World App. The new feature “is a private 1:1 facial comparison that ensures that only people who have verified their World ID on the orb can” access the World App. This feature will improve the security of “online purchases, financial transactions, and secure login applications” using the World App.

Worldcoin says that nearly 15 million people around the world currently use the World App digital wallet, while about 6.7 million users have officially verified their “identity” using Worldcoin’s iris scanning ball. Worldcoin assigns WLD tokens to those who undergo eye scans to prove their personality and create a World ID. Facial recognition is currently being piloted.
