Worldcoin, a crypto-fueled identity platform co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has launched its mainnet for its Ethereum layer-2 network called World Chain. With faster and cheaper transactions than Ethereum’s mainnet, World Chain hopes to attract developers and users from across the crypto ecosystem and promote the use of digital tools to improve financial inclusion.
The network aims to bring millions of verifiable human users onto the blockchain and promote the development of digital identity tools and applications that promote financial freedom.
World Chain is part of Optimism’s Superchain, which comprises a network of interoperable layer-2s that share security and other infrastructure.
