The president-elect of the US, Trump, has nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Bitcoin supporter, to serve as the US Secretary of Health and Human Services. Kennedy campaigned for a Bitcoin strategic reserve to stabilize the U.S. dollar and exempt Bitcoin gains from capital gains tax. Part of his personal wealth is invested in Bitcoin.
Trump stated that Kennedy would “make America healthy again” and work to clean up corruption in industrial food and drugs. Trump’s team includes Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, both of whom support cryptocurrencies. Additionally, it is rumored that Dan Gallagher, Chief Legal Officer of Robinhood, may take over as chairman of the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission, replacing Gary Gensler, who has a tough stance on the encryption industry.
