SolarBank Completes Ground-Mount Solar Power Project in New York
SolarBank Corporation has announced the completion of a ground-mount solar power project in the Village of Union Springs, New York. The project, located at a municipally-owned utility campus, has passed its final inspection by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) NY-Sun Program and has been placed into commercial operation.
SolarBank secured over $175,000 in NY-Sun incentives for the system and controlled the entire process, from originating the site to conducting engineering, procurement, and construction. The company also negotiated a power purchase agreement (PPA) and delivered financing.
Upon final closing, SolarBank will assume a majority ownership stake in the project. The power plant is expected to generate clean energy for the Village of Union Springs and surrounding areas, reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable energy practices.
“We are thrilled to have completed this project and to have it up and running,” said SolarBank CEO, John Smith. “This is a significant milestone for SolarBank and for the Village of Union Springs. We are proud to be contributing to the growth of renewable energy in New York and look forward to continuing to develop and operate solar projects across the state.”
The completion of the Union Springs project is part of SolarBank’s ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and promote sustainable energy practices. The company is committed to developing and operating solar projects that provide clean energy to communities across North America.
