Sui Network has released a report detailing the cause of its first network outage on November 21, 2024. The outage was due to a bug in the network’s congestion control code, which caused validators to crash if the estimated execution cost was zero. The issue was discovered, and a fix was implemented within 2.5 hours.
Sui took to X to share the report, stating: “The rapid, collaborative response from Sui’s validator operators is an incredible testament to the strength of the Sui community.” Sui is currently focusing on strengthening its testing systems to prevent similar issues in the future.
