Stablecoin Issuers Blacklist Two Addresses, $6.98 Million Frozen – Lazarus Group & Trading Platforms Involved

 

The cryptocurrency intelligence firm ZachXBT has identified two addresses that have been blacklisted by four stablecoin issuers: Paxful, Tether, Techteryx, and Circle. These addresses, 0x36f2D3871edd59d5C06DB8F0b12bE928d5922A70 and 0x12ED7f6ed0491678764c2b222A58452926E44DB6, were linked to the Lazarus Group, a notorious cybercrime group.

A total of $6.98 million has been frozen as a result of this investigation, with $4.96 million held by the Lazarus Group and an additional $1.65 million frozen on various trading platforms. This action demonstrates the collaborative efforts of stablecoin issuers to combat illicit activities and protect the integrity of the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
