Ripple Partners with IRC to Strengthen Humanitarian Efforts

David Miliband, President and CEO of the IRC, stated that the organization is excited to partner with Ripple to explore how their technology can enhance the speed and efficiency of cash relief in areas with limited access to traditional banking infrastructure during crises.

This is not Ripple’s first collaboration with a humanitarian organization; in 2020, it made a $10 million contribution to Mercy Corps to expand financial inclusion and boost economic empowerment globally.

Ripple’s Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, Eric van Miltenburg, said the collaboration marks an “crucial milestone” for the company to leverage blockchain technology for positive global impact.

Ripple, the payment company, has teamed up with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to support humanitarian efforts. The collaboration aims to help people affected by crises by improving cash relief programs, fund transfers, and exploring how Ripple’s upcoming stablecoin (RLUSD) can enhance aid delivery in regions with limited banking access.

Ripple will provide a $1 million, multi-year commitment for the partnership.
