Italian fashion brand Prada and Texas-based company Axiom Space have collaborated to create a new line of spacesuits for NASA, which will be used for the upcoming Artemis III mission. The spacesuits, named AxEMU, are based on NASA’s iconic designs and include soft and hard joints for improved range of motion, biometric monitoring and control interfaces, and tailor-made boots to withstand lunar temperatures and terrain.
The partnership has set a new precedent for cross-industry collaboration, expanding what is possible in commercial space, according to Axiom Space President Matt Ondler.
