Prada and Axiom Space Collaborate to Design Innovative Spacesuits for NASA’s Artemis III Mission

The boots are designed to withstand lunar temperatures and terrain, and the clothing includes biometric monitoring and control interfaces.

Known as the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU), the suit combines Prada’s apparel materials expertise with Axiom’s technology.

Italian Fashion House Prada and Axiom Space have unveiled a new spacesuit designed for NASA’s upcoming Artemis III mission. NASA’s Artemis III mission will be the first attempt to land on the moon since Apollo 17 in 1972 and will feature the new spacesuits.

According to Axiom Space, the suits include soft and hard joints for boostd range of motion, making walking on the moon easier and allowing for more precise scientific tasks.
