Polygon Zero Developer Achieves Major Breakthrough in Zero-Knowledge Proof Performance
Daniel Lubarov, a developer from the Polygon Zero team, announced on the X platform that the Plonky3 zero-knowledge proof system has made a significant leap in performance. The system can now handle over 2 million Poseidon2 hash operations per second, thanks to memory optimization techniques such as avoiding data copying, skipping zeroing operations, and merging FFT steps.
Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin acknowledged this achievement, noting that the processing speed, equivalent to 62MB of Merkle operations per second, is sufficient to complete the rehash of Ethereum’s maximum theoretical consensus state in a single time slot. Polygon co-founder Sandeep expressed gratitude for Vitalik’s recognition and pledged to continue driving technological innovation.
