Polish presidential candidate Slawomir Mentzen, who is a right-wing politician, has announced his plan to create a Bitcoin reserve in 2025 if he gets elected. This is similar to the strategy of former US president Donald Trump, who also sought to implement a Bitcoin-friendly approach. Slawomir Mentzen is currently gaining popularity among right-wing voters in Poland.
Although there isn’t a centrally agreed cryptocurrency policy in Poland, the authorities are supportive of the research on blockchain technology and the regulated management of investments. The idea of a Bitcoin reserve has been gaining traction as more countries like El Salvador, the Central African Republic, and Bhutan adopt Bitcoin or engage in Bitcoin mining.
