OpenAI seeks to dismiss Musk’s lawsuit, calling it ‘ranting’ campaign of harassment

BlockBeats news, on October 9, OpenAI requested to dismiss Musk’s federal lawsuit against the company on Tuesday, which accused OpenAI of harassment in order to promote the billionaire’s own artificial intelligence startup xAI.

Two months ago, Musk filed a lawsuit accusing OpenAI of abandoning its founding mission of developing an open artificial intelligence platform to “benefit humanity” in favor of maximizing profits.

OpenAI said in a motion to dismiss filed in California federal court on Tuesday that Musk’s lawsuit is the latest step in “Musk’s increasingly aggressive campaign to harass OpenAI for his own competitive advantage.”

The company said Musk had supported its core goal of seeking “the safe and beneficial development of general artificial intelligence,” but the billionaire allegedly “abandoned the venture after his efforts to dominate failed.”
