OpenAI adds search functionality to ChatGPT

According to BlockBeats news, on November 1, artificial intelligence giant OpenAI announced a major upgrade to ChatGPT, allowing it to search the network and provide answers based on the information found. This upgrade makes OpenAI more similar to a traditional search engine and competes more directly with Google.

Starting Thursday, paid ChatGPT subscribers will be able to respond to queries by searching the web for the latest information and summarizing what they find, rather than relying on potentially outdated data. The search feature is powered by OpenAI investor Microsoft’s Bing search engine, and also leverages articles that OpenAI has signed with publishers such as Wall Street Journal owner News Corp. and the Associated Press.

In addition, the ChatGPT search function will be rolled out to all free users in the next few months. (Golden Ten)
