BlockBeats reported that on September 26, OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati announced that she would leave the company, marking another eye-catching senior personnel change at the artificial intelligence startup. Murati posted on social media X on Wednesday that “I am leaving to free up time and space for my own exploration,” adding that she will work to ensure a smooth transition.
Murati has been a central figure at the AI startup, serving as interim CEO after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was briefly ousted last November. Altman responded to the post thanking Murati, writing: “It cannot be overstated how critical Murati is to OpenAI, our mission, and each of us.” Altman also said he would share more information about the transition plan with employees soon.
