Microsoft is set to hold a shareholder meeting on December 10th, where they will discuss investments in cryptocurrency, specifically bitcoin. However, the board of directors is currently asking shareholders to vote against the proposal to invest in bitcoin. The National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) has highlighted MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin Investment Strategy in their proposal and pointed out that it has outperformed Microsoft by more than 300% this year despite handling a fraction of Microsoft’s business volume.
The NCPPR also emphasizes the increasing institutional adoption of Bitcoin through spot Bitcoin ETFs. If Microsoft publicly decides not to invest in Bitcoin and the value of BTC rises, their shareholders may have a reason to sue the company.
