Starting September 14th, Meta will utilize publicly available data, including posts, comments, photos, and captions, to train its AI models. This approach will enable the AI to learn from real-world interactions and adapt to the nuances of different languages and cultures.
While Meta has assured that it will not use data from individuals under the age of 18 in the UK, the company’s decision to utilize user-generated content has raised concerns about data privacy. In July, Meta was forced to halt the launch of its AI assistant in the European Union due to data protection issues raised by the Irish Data Protection Commission.
