Public policy group Infrawatch PH has called on the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to take action against cryptocurrency exchanges Bitget and OKX, accusing them of operating illegally in the Philippines. Infrawatch claims that the exchanges have held promotional events at universities and conferences disguised as educational blockchain initiatives, and that their operations violate the country’s regulations on virtual asset service providers (VASPs).
