The group operated a fake cryptocurrency investment platform, using AI-generated images of attractive people to develop fake romantic relationships with potential victims.

Over the past year, this group successfully defrauded people out of over $50 million. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have managed to dismantle the group’s cross-border fraud center, which was operating in a nearly 4,000-foot factory constructing unit in Hung Hom.

The group was known for their professional training of fraudsters, producing training manuals, and providing scripts to their members. The scam was uncovered after multiple victims came forward to report their experiences. The investigation revealed it to be a large-scale operation, with significant misuse of AI technology.

The Hong Kong Police recently arrested a group of 27 individuals, including 21 men and 6 women, involved in a high-level digital assets fraud. The fake crypto platform attracted people through romantic conversations, ultimately convincing victims to invest in cryptocurrencies on the fake platform.
