Mat Collishaw Launches Heterosis, a Groundbreaking NFT-Based Flower Collection and Metaverse Experience

Renowned artist Mat Collishaw has announced his latest project, Heterosis, a pioneering NFT-based flower collection and immersive metaverse experience. The project is a collaboration with artist Danil Krivoruchko, snark.art, and metaverse architects EL-GABAL.

Heterosis consists of two main elements: a collection of breedable NFT flora and a virtual greenhouse, which is an overgrown, post-apocalyptic recreation of London’s National Gallery. The project is built on the og.art protocol, which is developed by snark.art.

Collishaw emphasized the significance of the Heterosis project as a departure from established art forms and experimentation in a totally novel medium. He said, “What we’re trying to do is create dynamic things that evolve, mutate, and also be able to visit them in these virtual social system environments—things like this wouldn’t have been possible before.”

The NFT flora collection is designed to be breedable, allowing for the creation of unique and rare flowers. The virtual greenhouse is a fully immersive experience that allows visitors to explore the space and interact with the flora. The greenhouse is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where nature has taken over the National Gallery.

Heterosis is a groundbreaking project that pushes the boundaries of what is possible with NFTs and metaverse experiences. It is a testament to the power of collaboration and experimentation in the art world. The project is set to launch in the coming months, and it is sure to be a must-see for art and technology enthusiasts alike.
