An HBO documentary has claimed that former Bitcoin developer Peter Todd is the real identity behind Satoshi Nakamoto.
Just a few days ago, it was reported that HBO would be releasing a new documentary on Bitcoin, exposing the real identity behind “Satoshi Nakamoto.”
Initially, in the betting marketplace, many believed the HBO documentary would point to popular cypherpunk Len Sassaman or computer programmer Nick Szabo as the most likely candidates for Satoshi Nakamoto. However, leaked clips from HBO’s soon-to-be-released documentary suggest that Peter Todd, a former Bitcoin developer, may be the true creator of Bitcoin.
Despite these claims, Todd denied being Nakamoto in a statement to Coindesk, calling the documentary filmmaker Cullen Hoback’s claims “grasping at straws.”
Amid the speculations, many Bitcoin enthusiasts are dismissing the theory, stating that all Bitcoin supporters and users are “Satoshi Nakamoto.”
This is not the first time someone has been falsely identified as Satoshi Nakamoto. In the past, notable figures such as Dorian Nakamoto, Craig Wright, and even Elon Musk have been suggested as the possible inventors of Bitcoin, only to later deny or disprove these claims.
