Gemini Foundation: A New Crypto Derivatives Platform Launching Soon

Gemini Foundation, a non-US crypto derivatives platform, is set to launch its first derivatives contract soon. The platform’s first offering will be a BTC perpetual contract denominated in Gemini dollars (GUSD), while an ETH/GUSD perpetual contract will launch shortly after.

Gemini Foundation aims to offer eligible customers the ability to leverage their crypto assets to achieve long or short crypto exposure, manage risk, generate returns, and gain directional exposure. Customers who qualify will be able to trade spot and derivatives products and execute all of their trading strategies on a secure and trusted platform.

Eligible customers will be able to sign up for priority access and to be notified when Gemini Foundation becomes available to them.

Gemini Foundation’s Availability and Funding

The platform will be available to customers in several countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Argentina, Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands (BVI), Bhutan, Brazil, Cayman Islands, Chile, Egypt, El Salvador, Guernsey, Israel, Jersey, New Zealand, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & Grenadine, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, and Vietnam.

However, it is worth noting that Gemini Foundation will not be available to customers in the United States of America.

Eligible customers will be able to fund their Gemini Foundation accounts at no additional cost by converting USD and USDC into GUSD on a 1:1 basis, and vice versa.

Fees, P&L, and Leverage

All fees on the platform will be charged in GUSD. All perpetual funding payments and unrealized and realized P&L will also be in GUSD.

Default leverage on the platform will be set at 20x, with a maximum possible leverage of 100x.
