FTX CTO Seeks Leniency Cooperation and Limited Knowledge

Gary Wang, a former FTX CTO, has asked for leniency from the judge before his Nov. 20 sentencing. He has cooperated with law enforcement and testified against Sam Bankman-Fried. Wang’s legal team is urging for a non-custodial sentence, stating that he had limited knowledge of the criminal activities and only learned of the scheme when it was in progress.

His lawyers also emphasized that he played a minor role in the offense and was the first among witnesses to fully cooperate with authorities. They argue that imposing a prison term would create an unnecessary disparity, failing to reflect his lower level of guilt and cooperation.
