FTX Co-Founder Gary Wang Seeks Non-Custodial Sentence Amid Cooperation in Fraud Trial

Gary Wang, co-founder of now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, is seeking to avoid prison time as he awaits sentencing. His attorney argues for a non-custodial sentence, citing Wang’s cooperation in the fraud trial against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and his comparatively lesser involvement in the scheme.

Wang’s testimony helped prosecutors secure Bankman-Fried’s conviction. Wang and Bankman-Fried co-founded FTX in 2019 and moved to the Bahamas, where they shared a company penthouse.
