Fortune: Caroline Ellison seeks prison exemption, cooperates with FTX prosecution

BlockBeats news, on September 12, Fortune reported that on Tuesday night, the lawyer of SBF’s ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison submitted a 67-page memorandum detailing her cooperation with prosecutors and the FTX bankruptcy estate, and requested that she be exempted from being sentenced to prison for participating in the FTX collapse.

They also submitted nearly 40 letters of support from her friends and family, as well as letters from representatives of the FTX bankruptcy estate, including CEO John Ray.

The memo delves into Caroline’s personal life and relationship history with SBF, blaming many of her decisions on SBF’s manipulative relationship style. In one instance, her attorneys allege that SBF convinced her to get a prescription for Adderall, which Caroline became dependent on.

As CEO of Alameda Research, Ellison played a key role in FTX and admitted to prosecutors that she knew about and facilitated SBF’s efforts to divert billions of dollars of client funds to his own investments, including startups, political donations and luxury real estate.
