Former FTX executive Ryan Salame again requests to postpone

BlockBeats news, October 9, according to TheBlock, according to a document released on Wednesday, former FTX executive Ryan Salame asked the court whether he could start jail in December instead of a few days later in order to continue receiving medical care after being bitten by a dog. According to a document released on Wednesday, Salame’s lawyer asked the court to postpone his sentence from October 11 to December 7, but the lawyer said the government disagreed with the request.

“On behalf of Ryan Salame, we respectfully request that the court postpone Salame’s voluntary surrender to the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) from Friday, October 11, 2024 to Friday, December 7, 2024, where he may receive ongoing treatment deemed necessary by his physician to recover from injuries sustained on or about June 29, 2024.” Salame had previously requested that his sentence be postponed from August to October so that he could undergo emergency surgery following a dog bite, and the court granted his first request, with Salame’s attorney stating that he had visited a doctor on July 3 “after suffering a dog bite to the face.”

BlockBeats previously reported that former FTX Digital Markets co-CEO Ryan Salame will report to a federal correctional institution on October 11 to serve his seven-and-a-half-year sentence. Salame will be the second FTX executive to face prison time after SBF was sentenced to 25 years in prison in March. Other executives named in the same indictment, Nishad Singh and Gary Wang, will be sentenced on October 30 and November 20, respectively.
