“DWF Labs Fires Partner Amid Allegations of Drugging and Harassment”

DWF Labs, a prominent crypto-focused venture capital firm, has severed ties with a partner accused of inappropriate behavior at a company event in Hong Kong.

The firm took action following allegations from a woman identified as “Hana,” who reported that the partner attempted to spike her drink on October 24. Hana, a venture capitalist, recounted the incident on X, describing how the accused partner approached her under the pretext of discussing a job opportunity.

During their encounter, Hana left her drink unattended to use the restroom. Upon returning, she took a few sips of the beverage before the alleged aggressor stepped out to make a call. A waitress then warned Hana that someone had tampered with her drink. Hana claims to have felt extremely dizzy when she went outside, where the partner allegedly attempted to lure her back to his hotel, promising “inside information” in exchange.

DWF Labs addressed the allegations in an official post on X, stating that although the matter remains under investigation, the firm has decided to dismiss the partner from management and operational roles effective immediately.

“We are aware of the recent and deeply concerning allegations involving one of our partners, who has been accused of inappropriate and unacceptable behavior,” the firm stated. “At DWF Labs, we hold the utmost respect for all individuals and are unwavering in our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone.”

DWF Labs emphasized its commitment to a safe and respectful workplace, noting that over half of its workforce comprises women, reflecting its dedication to gender diversity. The company stressed that it does not condone any actions that go against its core values of integrity, respect, and accountability.

The firm expressed solidarity with individuals affected by similar incidents and stated that it is still monitoring the situation. The identity of the dismissed partner has not been publicly confirmed by DWF Labs or the victim.

DWF Labs manages a crypto portfolio worth an estimated $48.7 billion, with investments in notable projects such as Tron (TRX), Toncoin (TON), and Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET). This is not the first time the company has faced controversy, having denied allegations of market manipulation in September 2023.
