BCB Group Eyes Potential Acquisition Amidst UK Crypto M&A Boom
BCB Group, a prominent cryptocurrency payment processor, has reportedly received acquisition offers from investors. This development signifies a growing trend of mergers and acquisitions within the UK’s digital asset industry.
According to sources familiar with the matter, BCB Group is currently exploring a potential acquisition while simultaneously considering a Series B funding round. The London-based company provides payment solutions that bridge the gap between cryptocurrency firms and the traditional banking system.
BCB Group’s recent success is evidenced by its $60 million Series A funding round completed in January 2022. The round attracted major players in the fintech and crypto space, including Foundation Capital, PayU, and Digital Currency Group.
In April, BCB Group secured regulatory approval from France’s financial authorities to operate as an electronic money institution (EMI) and a digital asset service provider (DASP). This strategic move established France as the company’s European regulatory base.
