“Crypto Firm DWF Labs Fires Partner Amid Allegations of Misconduct”

DWF Labs, a cryptocurrency-focused venture capital firm, has severed ties with a partner accused of spiking a woman’s drink during a company event in Hong Kong.

According to the company’s October 29 post on X, the allegations involved a partner who allegedly exhibited “inappropriate and unacceptable behavior.” DWF Labs stated that while the matter is still under investigation, the partner has been dismissed from management and operational roles, effective immediately.

The alleged victim, identified as Hana, a venture capitalist, shared the incident in a thread on X. She explained that the partner initially approached her to discuss a job opportunity, describing her as a “perfect fit” for a project. During the encounter, Hana left her drink unattended while she went to the restroom. Upon returning, she took a few sips of the beverage before the alleged aggressor stepped out to make a call. A waitress then warned her that someone had tampered with her drink in her absence.

Hana recounted feeling “extremely dizzy” when she went outside, where the partner allegedly attempted to lure her back to his hotel, promising “inside information” in exchange. She has since obtained CCTV footage from the bar and filed a report with Hong Kong police.

DWF Labs emphasized its commitment to a safe and respectful workplace, stating that it holds “the utmost respect for all individuals” and is “unwavering in our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone.” The company also highlighted that over half its workforce comprises women, reflecting its commitment to gender diversity.

The firm stressed that it does not condone any actions that go against its core values of integrity, respect, and accountability, reiterating that it remains steadfast in upholding these values within itself and in its partnerships and interactions across the industry. DWF Labs expressed solidarity with individuals affected by similar incidents and stated that it is still monitoring the situation.

According to CoinGecko, DWF Labs boasts a crypto portfolio worth an estimated $48.7 billion, with investments in Tron (TRX), Toncoin (TON), and Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET), among others.

DWF Labs has been involved in controversy before, with allegations of market manipulation in September 2023. However, the company dismissed the charges, stating that any reported anomalies were the result of market dynamics rather than manipulation.

The identity of the dismissed partner has not been publicly confirmed by DWF Labs or the alleged victim.
