J. Christopher Giancarlo, also known as “Crypto Dad,” has denied rumors that he is being considered to replace Gary Gensler as the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Giancarlo, who previously served as a commissioner at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and has been involved in promoting discussions on digital monetary innovations, has stated that he doesn’t want to return to a regulatory role.
Gensler, the current SEC chair, has also hinted at a possible departure amid increasing pressure on his leadership.
