Crypto Conference Attendee Robbed in Bangkok Warnings Issued

A co-founder of a company called Rooch Network, Haichao Zhu, was robbed at knifepoint in Bangkok. This happened just before an important event called Ethereum’s Devcon conference. This is not the first time that people at big meetings about cryptocurrency have been robbed. The robbery happened at 4:30 in the morning when Haichao was alone after arriving from a late flight.

He was not hurt, but the attackers took his phone. He warns other people going to the conference not to be alone at night in Bangkok because it can be dangerous. Another website called Decrypt is trying to learn more about this. There have been other scary events at meetings about cryptocurrency, like someone being robbed with a gun at a conference in Brussels earlier this year.

This makes the robbery in Bangkok even more important because many more people will be at the Devcon 7 conference in Bangkok, which is a big event for people who make Ethereum, a type of cryptocurrency. Important people like Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum Foundation executive director Aya Miyaguchi will be there too.
