Charles Hoskinson Pitches Coinbase CEO for Top Crypto Role

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has proposed Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong as a top candidate for a crypto policy role in the proposed second administration of President Donald Trump. In a post on X, Hoskinson outlined the key qualifications for a “Crypto-Czar,” highlighting the need for neutrality, collaboration across protocols, and a deep understanding of the unique value of cryptocurrency.

He also criticized the current administration’s regulatory missteps in the sector. Hoskinson argued that Armstrong’s leadership at Coinbase, which became the largest crypto exchange in the US and one of the first publicly traded crypto companies under his guidance, makes him an ideal fit for the role.

He praised Armstrong’s resilience in navigating the government’s regulatory challenges and his ability to unite the industry and spearhead legislative progress. Other suggested candidates for the role include pro-XRP attorney John Deaton.
