Privacy-focused web browser Brave has announced a new feature that allows users to sell cryptocurrency for fiat without leaving the integrated Brave Wallet. The feature, which is powered by crypto on-ramp startup Ramp Network, enables users in select countries to sell their coins for U.S. dollars, euros, and the British pound, including Ethereum. The move comes as self-custody and the “not your keys, not your coins” mantra regain momentum following the collapse of prominent cryptocurrency firms like Celsius and FTX. Brave aims to make crypto self-custody easier with this new desktop browser feature, offering secure and easy-to-manage self-custody in the wake of recent events where centralized exchanges mishandled customer funds.
