Blockchain.com Executives in Court Over Company Submission

London-based cryptocurrency platform Blockchain.com faces potential prosecution after failing to file company records on time, according to The Telegraph. Co-founder and president Nicolas Cary and operations executive Al Turnball were summoned by Companies House in May for not submitting their business accounts for the year ending December 2022. The company claimed the delay was due to a restructure and significant staff reductions during an unstable period; they have since filed their 2020 accounts in October. A hearing took place at Cardiff Magistrates Court on September 25 with another scheduled for November 26th. Established in 2011, Blockchain.com boasts over 37 million verified users across more than 200 countries, serving them through over 89 million wallets while processing trillions of dollars worth of transactions.
