Bitfarms postpones special shareholder meeting to review Riot’s request

According to BlockBeats, on September 9, The Block reported that Bitcoin mining company Bitfarms postponed its special shareholders’ meeting by one week to re-evaluate the revised requirements proposed by Riot Platforms.

Bitfarms postponed a meeting originally scheduled for October 29 to November 6, which was originally scheduled in response to Riot Platforms’ request on June 24.

Riot amended its request on September 3, focusing primarily on Bitfarms’ recent governance changes and its proposed acquisition of Stronghold Digital ahead of the EGM. Riot advocated for further changes to Bitfarms’ board of directors, arguing that independent oversight and better governance practices are needed to enhance shareholder value.
