After Trump’s election win in the US, there has been a significant rise in Bitcoin’s value. Experts believe that this is due to the shift in people’s traditional views on inflation hedging and the impact of Trump’s policies on tax cuts, tariffs, and cryptocurrencies. As institutional adoption of Bitcoin grows, there could be a shift in capital away from gold and towards digital assets.
This is supported by deVere Group’s CEO, Nigel Green, who sees Bitcoin as a valuable tool for hedging inflation and diversifying portfolios. The infrastructure for supporting mass adoption of Bitcoin is also increasing, which has led to an all-time high in institutional interest. This sentiment is echoed by Fadi Aboualfa, head of research at Copper.co, who notes the similarity in price action patterns between spot Bitcoin and gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
