Perth Heat Baseball Fans Can Now Earn Bitcoin with Every Stolen Base and Home Run

Perth Heat, the most successful baseball team in the Australian Baseball League, has partnered with Bitrefill, Wallet of Satoshi, and IBEX to reward fans with bitcoin every time a player from Perth Heat steals a base or hits a home run. The partnership will allow fans to “Steal Sats” by scanning a QR code displayed on the game stream or on the team’s social media channels when a player makes an impressive play.

Fans will receive their reward instantly after scanning the code with a Lightning-enabled wallet, introducing a novel fan interaction system that brings further excitement to thrilling moments in games. The partnership aims to bring more fans to the stadium and create a unique experience for baseball fans in Australia.

“We are thrilled to be launching Stealing Sats in partnership with Bitrefill, Wallet of Satoshi, and IBEX,” said Steven Nelkovski, CEO of Perth Heat. “This partnership will allow us to engage with our fans in a new and exciting way, while also promoting the use of bitcoin and Lightning technology.”

The partnership is the latest example of how bitcoin and blockchain technology are being used to enhance fan engagement in sports. With the rise of digital currencies and the increasing popularity of sports betting, more teams and leagues are exploring ways to integrate blockchain technology into their operations.

“We are excited to partner with Perth Heat to bring this innovative fan engagement program to life,” said John Carvalho, CEO of Bitrefill. “By using Lightning technology, we can offer fans a seamless and instant way to earn bitcoin while enjoying the game.”

The Stealing Sats program will be available to Perth Heat fans starting from the next game. Fans can download a Lightning-enabled wallet to participate in the program and start earning bitcoin with every stolen base and home run.
