BlockBeats news reported on October 7 that the Arbitrum Foundation has unveiled its “Road to Devcon” plan, marking a strategic shift towards amplifying its presence in the Asian market. Seeing the immense potential in the region, the foundation is doubling down on its efforts to engage with the growing developer community and the increasing use of cryptocurrencies among retail investors.

To set the stage for Devcon 2024 in Bangkok, Arbitrum has devised a comprehensive strategy that includes ArbiLink, a series of in-person events in Vietnam and Indonesia. These events aim to foster connections with the burgeoning local developer communities. According to data from Github, the number of developers in these regions has seen a year-on-year increase of 31% and 34% respectively.

As part of the initiative, the “Step Into Arbitrum” program will offer participants the opportunity to delve into the Arbitrum SDK through a structured learning experience with rewards. Subsequently, a bounty campaign will be launched in October to incentivize developers to test their skills by programming and creating decentralized applications (dapps) using the Arbitrum SDK.

The “Road to Devcon” program expands on Arbitrum’s recent Asia tour, which included the inaugural Arbitrum Night event in Tokyo showcasing various games and NFT projects on the chain. The foundation also collaborated with ApeChain to set up a booth and hosted a high-level roundtable discussion at Korea Blockchain Week. Moreover, Arbitrum held its first ArbiVerse event at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore, featuring partners like Ubisoft, Azuki, and ApeChain.
