Robinhood Q3 Crypto Volume Surges But Misses Revenue Targets

Robinhood’s cryptocurrency trading volume increased by 112% year-over-year to $14.4 billion in Q3 2024. While this shows growth in transaction-based revenue, with a 72% increase to $319 million, it underperformed analyst expectations. Other parts of Robinhood’s business, like options and equities trading, showed strong performance.

The company has seen a 76% year-over-year increase in its Assets Under Custody to $152.2 billion. Robinhood executives express pride in the results, citing company growth and recent initiatives. Since launching its cryptocurrency unit in 2018, Robinhood has expanded its offerings through various partnerships and initiatives.
