Founder of MakerDAO, Rune Christensen, proposed a strictly deflationary approach to the protocol’s governance token amid community preparations to rebrand by Nov. 11. Under Christensen’s planned token changes, incentives like Star Token Rewards would occur through governance participation and Maker’s Seal Engine activation. For rebrand purposes, MKR tokens would become Wrapped 24k Sky Tokens (SKY24K). An exclusive “Dual-Star” system would see Spark handling collateral allocation and borrowing incentives while Sky targets USDS utilization, Sky.money, and adoption incentives.
