Linekong Interactive Founder Regrets Missed Bitcoin Investment Opportunity
Wang Feng, the founder of Linekong Interactive, recently expressed regret over a missed opportunity to invest in Bitcoin back in 2019. In a post recalling MicroStrategy’s plan to raise $42 billion in funds over the next three years, Wang Feng shared that he had proposed investing $20 million to purchase Bitcoin when the price was less than $6,000 per coin. However, his proposal was met with strong opposition from board members and a representative of a major shareholder, who even threatened to sue.
It wasn’t until Wang Feng returned as CEO in early 2023 that Linekong Interactive began implementing its Bitcoin investment plan. By that time, the price of Bitcoin had risen to $26,000 per coin. MicroStrategy, on the other hand, only started purchasing Bitcoin on a large scale in 2020. If Linekong Interactive had executed its investment plan in 2019, it could have potentially gained considerable returns, given that its listed companies and affiliated companies had approximately 500 million RMB in cash at the time.
